uno form unites Danish design heritage and craftsmanship with a deep commitment to nature

When you choose a kitchen from the Danish kitchen brand uno form, you’re investing in an FSC®-certified, handcrafted kitchen made from wood sourced from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources.

The combination of razor-sharp aesthetics, uncompromising craftsmanship, discerning material choices and complete functionality creates a sustainable design that works here and now – and in many years to come.

For over 50 years, wood has been one of uno form’s most essential materials. In the original uno form kitchen from 1968, skilled craftsmen used solid wood for slats, drawers, and frame constructions — a tradition that continues in all collections, where wood remains a defining element. With this comes a deep responsibility to ensure that the wood is sourced responsibly.

“Because of our passion for working with wood, we feel a profound responsibility for nature and the world’s forests,” says Brand Director Peter Bisgaard. “That’s why, more than 20 years ago, we phased out the use of rainforest wood. And for the past five years, we have exclusively used responsibly sourced wood — a decision that marked the first step towards full FSC certification of uno form. We are proud that our FSC certification (FSC® C068191) helps protect the world’s forests while promoting responsible products in the kitchen industry.”

“The Forest Stewardship Council® plays a vital role in ensuring that FSC-certified forests are managed in a way that respects the environment, wildlife, and the people who work within them. With our FSC certification, we know exactly where our wood comes from - and that it has been grown responsibly,” says Peter Bisgaard.

“We hand-select and carefully sort only the finest veneer qualities from the most renowned regions in Europe. Our light oak veneer, for example, comes from the mineral-rich limestone soils of southern Germany and the mountainous areas of France — where the trees have grown slowly and developed exceptional character. For more than 20 years, we’ve sourced our solid wood from a family-owned sawmill in Germany that shares our uncompromising commitment to quality,” Peter Bisgaard concludes.

A focused sustainability approach guided by a clear strategic vision

At uno form, we recognize that private consumers are increasingly demanding greater responsibility — both in the ethical sourcing of materials and in the pursuit of quality and timeless design. We aspire to surround ourselves with design that hold lasting value, ones we neither want nor need to replace.

Responsibility also plays a key role in the project market. As a supplier of exclusive kitchen, bathroom, and wardrobe furnishings for some of the most prestigious developments, uno form’s FSC certification supports developers’ sustainability requirements in construction projects.

uno form is part of Nobia AB, which has developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy and is a signatory of the UN Global Compact — a strategic initiative for companies committed to making the world a better place for plants, animals, and people.
